2023 Ludo, 'Sand & Gravel' Syrah Rosé
Over the years, winemaker Marcell Kustos gathered inspiration from various wine styles (sparkling, white, rosé, red, fortified) to create a collectible rosé. The 2023 vintage comes from a sandy, dry-grown, and certified organic vineyard in Sellicks Hill (McLaren Vale), planted in 1990. Utilizing techniques he's developed since 2021, the wine is whole bunch pressed, wild-fermented, and aged for 11 months in ancient barrels. It also includes a 10% perpetual reserve, adding complexity and texture, resulting in a distinctive and serious rosé.
