2023 COS Frapatto
Since its establishment in 1980 by Giusto Occhipinti and Titta Cilia, COS has been a stalwart advocate for the uncommon Frappato grape. Recognizing its promise, they embarked on a mission to craft a wine distinguished by its singular character—intense yet refreshingly light. Cultivated organically in the sandy soils of Vittoria, Southeast Sicily, the Frappato undergoes fermentation in concrete vessels to preserve its varietal vibrancy.
On the palate, it offers a delightful juxtaposition of bright acidity and silky tannins, showcasing flavors of ripe strawberries, cranberries, and a touch of earthiness. With its medium body and refreshing acidity, this Frappato delivers a harmonious balance and a smooth, lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression. It's a true testament to the terroir of Sicily and the artistry of Cos's winemaking tradition.
