2023 Paralian 'Marmont Vineyard' Grenache
This Grenache, from the Cross family's 'The Marmont Vineyard' in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale, is a single-vineyard gem planted in 1960. It’s dry-grown on Holocene Sand at 140-145m altitude. Paralian's 2023 release, the sixth, features hand-picked fruit, wild-fermented in a 135-year-old concrete fermenter with 20% whole bunches, and matured for 10 months in a 2500L French oak foudre. The wine presents aromas of ripe raspberry, pink lady apple, Thai mint, almond husk, and white chocolate, with a crisp cranberry brightness and fine tannins.

In 2008, Charlie and Sky met as eager young winemakers at Hardy’s Tintara in McLaren Vale, bonding over long shifts, midnight coffees, and a shared passion for wine. After numerous vintages both locally and internationally, we settled in Port Willunga, McLaren Vale. With 46 vintages of experience, they launched Paralian Wines. They selected prime sites in northern McLaren Vale, where old seas have left ideal conditions for Grenache, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their focus is on site and vintage expression, ensuring balanced, high-quality wines.
