2023 Momento Mori, 'Fistful Of Flowers' Moscato Giallo / Vermentino
Grown on Mt Camel in Heathcote and Merbein, Chalmers' Moscato Giallo and Vermentino thrived in a cool, rainy season. Early harvesting kept alcohol low (10.5%) while maintaining excellent flavour. This wine is fresh, energetic, and expressive, with a nose of florals, stone fruits, musk, and citrus. The palate contrasts with a clean, cool steeliness and a citrus-like salinity, balancing the vibrant aromas with freshness and purity.

Momento Mori
Dane Johns began his winemaking career working with Bill Downie in Victoria before launching his own label, sourcing fruit from organic growers. Initially focused on Italian varietals like Fiano, Moscato Giallo, and Vermentino, he now grows Pinot Noir and Riesling on his own vineyard. His winemaking is all about purity, with small ferments, wild yeast, no additives, and no sulphur. Dane's wines, made gently and naturally, are vibrant, fresh, and full of character.
