The wines come from 35.3 hectares of estate-grown fruit, located in the heart of Tasmania's Coal River Valley. French winemaker Alain Rousseau brings his focus on balance, engagement, and elegance, taking a "hands-off" approach to let the fruit speak for itself. Vineyard manager Alex Van Driel, who won the prestigious ‘2016 Vineyard of the Year’ award from the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania, plays a key role in crafting many award-winning wines. The vines are mature, at their peak, and yielding exceptional fruit quality. Every vine is carefully hand-pruned and trained to secure cordon wire, ensuring maximum light exposure to enhance both fruit flavor and color.

Named after the famous mouth of the Derwent River, Storm Bay wines are crafted by Alain Rousseau. Interestingly, their inspiration doesn’t come from Burgundy, but from Tasmania’s distinctive maritime climate—a character that the wines embody with remarkable authenticity.
