2024 Vangurdist, 'Botanic' Rosé
Michael Corbett’s first release of Botanic Rosé at Vanguardist is exceptional. Crafted from Grenache and Syrah from his Rende vineyard, the sandy, mineral-rich soils and high elevation create ideal conditions for these grapes. Despite a challenging vintage, Corbett’s meticulous approach has resulted in a serious, textural wine. The fruit underwent natural fermentation in stainless steel and a concrete sphere, aging on lees with full malolactic fermentation for a rounded mouthfeel and fine tannins. This vibrant rosé showcases character and zest, making it a standout from McLaren Vale.

Vanguardist
Vanguardist is an up and coming producer from McLaren Vale started by three friends after many long nights in Hawkes Bay talking about their shared love of wine.
Their mission is to bring premium, authentic, small-batch wines to a market they see as crowded by "overly commercialised wines produced by corporates who take up all the elbow room."
They source very high-quality fruit from great vineyards across South Australia, looking to build wines with texture and vibrancy.
With experienced winemaker Michael Corbett at the helm, the future looks bright for this plucky challenger brand.
